BBC Radio3, Elizabeth Alker:
There’s a very natural symbiosis, these two musicians clearly work really well together

What’s the Sound of a Dream? is compositional ambient music for critical dreamers—for listeners who dare to get lost in thought, even at the risk of bumping their heads.

Switzerland-based duo Ako Amo – consisting of Maris Reck on electronics and Olivia Zaugg on piano – began as an ambitious live interpretation of Uoon I by Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto. To achieve this, they custom-built electronic instruments capable of synthesizing the piece’s sounds in real-time.
Over the following years, this foundation developed into their own distinctive performative and compositional practice and aesthetic. The debut album is a playful, quirky, and warm continuation of what inspired the duo initially.

Early digital electronics and acoustic piano, piano processing and sensitive sound design make up the Ako Amo sound.

Past Concerts: Project Agora x NNAVY, Zentralwäscherei Zürich, Gare du Nord, ONO Bern, Basso Basel, Schloss Holligen, MuWo Basel, Residency Reconnect Basel-Landschaft.
